Professional Bodybuilder and 6 time Mr. Olympia winner Dorian Yates sat down with London Real in January 2013 to discuss how his “High Intensity Training” techniques changed the sport, the specifics of his steroid use and its effects, how he psychologically reinvented himself after his abrupt retirement in 1997, and his thoughts on conspiracy theories, psychedelics, and cannabis.

Mr Yates is age 52 so he is one of the lucky ones and lasted longer than a
lot of druggies. The modern pro body-builder takes around 20 different
drugs. Hey any you guys take a look at Steve Reeves or Jack Dellinger top
body-builders from 1940s-1950s. Damn they had the best physiques of all
time. Typical routines were full-body thrice/wk 3 sets of 10 reps. Also be
aware that juiced or natural to get big you must consume monstrous amounts
of protein. And that alone will severely damage your liver kidney and heart
over time. Moderation is a good guide. That goes for heavy lifting…over
time it will shorten your life. Lastly, most body-builders lie about
poundage they use. Most use moderate wts. They will use heavy weights
occasionally just to impress. Even Arnold said he stuck to moderate
poundage as heavy weights didn’t help at all. But the newest super potent
drugs will push your limits higher than in Arnolds day.

Lots of people take steroids…Lots of people hate on steroids….Anyone
can have access to steroids and gym! And I don’t see great physiques
walking around everywhere. Dorian is/was one of the best, if not the best.
It takes blood, sweat, and tears. And steroids just “just lubricate” your
“engine”, just like oil in the car.Make your training life smoother, but
you still gotta bust your butt. Stop hating.

I’m not hating on roidheads. But just look at these guys right after they
quit the sport…just wispy shadow of their best days. Roids are dangerous
enough…its the other PEDs that really kills them off in their 30s and
40s. I really feel sorry for you guys that think taking those drugs is a
good idea. Just saying is all.

Yates was incredible.. His physique was unique and in my opinion he would
still beat out many of today`s top champions.. Today`s bodybuilders have
soft inflated muscles but they don`t have that concrete look that Yates
had.. Compare Yates to Phil Heath and you`ll see what I mean

3% bodyfat is not “insanely low”. I know a lot of people that have 3-4 %
bodyfat year round.
