TheNad says:

Usain bolt and prtty much all sprinters are cut as fuck. Hiit/sprint doesnt
burn your muscle when you have good diet and good sleep. Low intensity long
cardio burns muscle.these guys dont know shit!

mario712145 says:

This is only true if you are doing ridiculous amounts of cardio like 5km
runs. Also if you’re in a caloric deficit because your cutting and doing
cardio your muscles will get used for energy. Your body is smart however
and won’t use your muscles for energy without choosing fat first. Only in
really intense and prolonged cardio sessions is when your muscles will get
used for energy.

bn2mar2div2 says:

Now I’m confused BBC over there talking about don’t do low intensity (you
can have a conversation) cardio but do HIT cardio like sprinters, what

naomi chambers says:

The reason that cardio has gotten a bad reputation for burning muscle is
that most often, people couple drastic diets with cardio in their effort to
“cut” after “bulking” – its why I hate the whole bulking and cutting
mentality. ) Its the drastic caloric reduction that is responsible for the
muscle loss, not the cardio! If you don’t consume enough protein and enough
calories, your body will cannibalize your muscles – a good safe limit is
not to reduce your calories by more than 20% below your TDEE (Total Daily
Energy Expenditure), to find a muscle-safe caloric intake for dieting
please use my calorie calculator.Proper nutrition while dieting is key to
insuring you don’t lose muscle mass. You can lose weight with an
all-twinkie dietbut you will lose lots of muscle at the same time!

LMBO!!!! you guys are to funny……but very knowledgeable…..thank you
for all your time and efforts you put into these videos…

RobTheSharkie says:

i cant break a sweat off brisk walking cmon man lol

steven murphy says:

I have a question should you do incline on the treadmill and how fast do
you guys usually go so I know at least a starting point ?

Stephen Joiner says:

@The Nad – Sprinting is quick and brief. It is not long and intense cardio,
that is why a lot of sprinters look muscular. The Hodgetwins know their

Westley Cathcart says:

Is this crap supposed to be a joke? For real?

Yanitza Gutierrez says:

Nick Serrano says:

Can you explain how sprinters are huge and distance runners are thin

jason stroug says:

Running sprints works best for me. Lift in the A.M. sprint in the P.M.
Keep a high protein diet, suppliment good with BCAA’s and maybe creatine,
protein before bed and you will keep yo gainzzz, no bullshit.

nhaig89 says:

Lefty, your tank top is pretty effeminate. Is that a sweetheart neckline?

RedLightningHood says:

Doing cardio prior to a workout can fatigue you which will make it hard to
maximize your workout.

Qi Weng says:

humm … i dont get how jordan burroughs do intense cardio work out
everyday and he still buff like a hulk

dprague says:

Going to the gym in 20 minutes. I am in the fat burning phase and will use
this advice.

Jisselly Diaz says:

It depends on the person, I do interval training on the treadmill going at
speed of 8, but I can still talk to people. My legs and glutes have never
looked better. Find something that works for you. Cardio is a requirement
that most people fail to do. They can’t run on the treadmill that’s fine,
but don’t really tell others they cannot. The only cardio that would
seriously burn my muscles is 3 hours of cardio.

Dale Hadley says:

I like their videos but their advice is horrible at times.

Jay Smith says:

This is absolute rubbish Guys if you have a really low body fat presentable
like 5 percent 3 percent you will burn muscle as your body had no fat to
burn if you are like 20 percent body fat you will not burn muscle you will
burn fat

Cosworth504 says:

U stupid fucks. How the fuck u can say that u should be able to make a
conversation while doing cardio?!?! Are u a fckin sissys?!? The most stupid
advice for cardio in the universe fckin idiots!

te eed says:

It’s unbelievable to me how widely the opinions range on whether or not
high intensity cardio burns muscle. Even college studies/experiments seem
to have varied conclusions. Seems like the only way to figure out is
through personal trial and error

Shon9tilR says:

I think it depends on how much cardio and for how long you do it. I do 4
sets of running on 6.5 speed for one minute about every other day. And I’m
not losing muscles.

Westley Cathcart says:

Is this crap supposed to be a joke? For real?

MrIamRapiid says:

Does it matter if you do your cardio before lifting weights?

Cosworth504 says:

U stupid fucks. How the fuck u can say that u should be able to make a
conversation while doing cardio?!?! Are u a fckin sissys?!? The most stupid

mehrtash j says:

you cannot get a sweat with 15 mins if your doing steady cardio u gotta aim
for 45 to 60 mins its easy to put on love handles but hard work to burn it
off there are no short cuts

Matthieu Chrone says:

what they mean is that lactic acid produced my aneamic respiration (or
however u spell it) will fuck up your muslces so u have to workout with
aerobic respiration

Reivax Zagonlez says:

2-3 HIIT sections a week wont necessarily burn all your gains. for example
sprinting and circuits can boost metabolism for more than 24 hours and
build muscle at the same time. it all depends and your diet and recovery.

Dazzmond Western Rules says:

thank you hodgetwins you saved my mussel ;)

marcounder says:

Dont give wrong information… just look at sprint athelets and marathon
athelets. Btw, all i did for the past months was sprinting 20-25 mins a
day, i lost a lot of weight and gained a lot of muscle. For ppl reading
this, go watch more opinions about HIIT, and get your own conclusions. For
the guys on the video, stick with the gym thing.

shahab muharam says:

How come basketball player dont lose muscles then

jeff lebard says:

sorry forgot to add my normal regime 5-6 days a week: 4 mornings/week boot
camp type training. 2 mornings/week weight training. 5 evenings/week is
high intensity cardio. 1 day a week is a solid day of cardio training (4 +

jeff lebard says:

so question from an endurance athlete: how can I build some muscle? I
obviously can’t stop doing high intensity cardio as it would be counter
productive to my sport. However I would like to put on some more muscle
(not a bunch). Any thoughts on this?

jj cora says:

I need to run for my phys ed class at school but I want to build muscle and
have good condition. If anyone can tell me what I should do it would help a
lot, thanks. Btw this my sisters account lol

kapleesh says:

Everyone seems to say differently. Some people say hiit cardio helps retain
muscle. Some people say it doesn’t. What’s the truth?

Dennis Pierre says:

I do mediocre cardio work outs for 1 hour. The only machine I go hard on is
the treadmill, but even then I only run 6/10 mins with the incline set
high. I don’t really burn muscle. The other machines I go light. Then
follow up on 1 1/2 workout. I don’t really eat before the gym, if I do its
light, but after, I wanna eat a whole buffet. I’m not a trainer or expert.
But a trainer told me three important things in training are: resting
(sleeping), working out smart, and feeding your body.

Jay Smith says:

Walking for 15 mins ??? Wtf fat is that going no burn little to none if you
have a decent bit of fat on you you have nothing to worry about get on that

Newcastle360 says:

didnt arnold run miles everyday , done sprints and swimming ?

fahadkwtq8 says:

Guys you won’t burn off muscles if you eat a good meal before the cardio
but if you’re starving and working out then your body is gonna breakdown
your muscles and use it as energy. So make sure you eat well before any

This Almost-Magical Workout Regimen builds muscle faster than steroids. Go
and Google Max Muscle Method to find out more.

Mrfatparakeet1 says:

If you’ve plateaued, and cannot lose more weight, perhaps your diet is not
in check, reduce your carb intake. And if so, maybe your body is in
starvation mode, look into carb control, where your body is constantly
guessing the carbs it’s getting so you’ll burn more fat. Good luck
